Ukraine is a big country. In different parts of the country there are festivals of national culture, where guests can get acquainted with the traditions of peoples living in different regions of the country. Now I would like to tell you about the authentic culture of western Ukraine.

In the mountainous area, local traditions are most fully preserved. For people living in the mountains, traditional holidays are a good opportunity to meet friends, show local flavor and have fun.

One of the most popular festivals of folk culture is held in the city of Rakhov, located in the heart of the Ukrainian Carpathians, at an altitude of about half a kilometer above sea level. Guests of the festival can listen to Hutsul folk music, try a variety of cheese, participate in folk dances.

The Carpathian region, it is primarily a mixture of cultures. Transcarpathia has a common border with Romania, Hungary, Slovakia and Poland. Therefore, local culture absorbed the traditions of neighboring peoples.

Every year, in the village of Veliky Bychkov, there is a traditional festival of cabbage rolls. Guests of the holiday can take part in folk festivals, and try different kinds of cabbage rolls from natural products.

Interestingly, the festival is only 50 meters from the border with Romania. There are two countries divided by the river Tisza.
